CT scan, 1 drink and the pool

Today I had my CT scan.  This was a much simpler test than I expected.   It was done with contrast dye.  This is similar to an MRI, but you go into the machine feet first and you are not in there very long.  I feel like they took 2 before pictures and then they injected the dye and took 2 after pictures.  The entire time I was on the table for the machine was less than 15 minutes.   The images are being sent to my local oncologist and to Moffitt in Tampa.   My REAL hope is that this scan shows NOTHING in my stomach or pancreas.  I hope to get the results some time on Wednesday.

As for scheduling the MRCP/MRI, that is not going well.  Apparently, it is being held up my insurance.  I am going to call Blue Cross tomorrow and ask them what the holdup is.

Enough talk about that, since it is just a small step in my journey to wellness.   Tonight, we took our friends Don and Carol out to dinner.  Carol is the wonderful woman who has been helping me schedule all my appointments, and getting me to the best local Oncologist.  So we wanted to thank her for all the help she has provided.   We went to a Mexican place, that many people have raved about.  The hype was real.  Our food was amazing.  I had a TINY drink to take my mind off things.

It was really good.  $25…. So I had to finish the whole thing.   This meant I was a passenger on the ride home and not the driver.  WORTH IT.

As a side note, I do not think I have mentioned that we are building a pool in our back yard, and the process has begun.  Monday when we were on the cruise the landscaper came and moved our 3 trees out and pulled up all the rocks to be salvaged for later.  They are all sitting at the end of our driveway now.  (And will be for at least 4 months).  Today we had the company come out and move our mini air conditioner unit for the lanai.  They moved it from the garage side of the house, to the other side where all the pool equipment will be placed.   On Wednesday the main Air Conditioner company is coming to move that unit to that side of the house as well.   This will be a fun project to watch unfold.
